Wincenty Filipiak made his first violin in his early teens in the Krakow region of Poland. At the age of sixteen, he emigrated to the United States, where he continued making violins and later basses. All hand-carved and varnished with his own formula, his many instruments exemplify skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Not visually evident, however, is the exquisite tone, which they yield.
